Hajime mashite from Paris
Hi,
My name is Nicolas, I am a shakuhachi practitioner from Paris, France.
I've been fond of shakuhachi for longer than I can remember, and started learning 6 years ago. I've been studying kinko-ryu with Daniel Lifermann, and a bit of tozan-ryu with Sôzan Kariya. I've stopped taking lessons about three years ago when my daughter was born, as I could not practice regularly enough anymore, and since then I also had a little boy so the situation hasn't changed much.
Still I keep practicing enough to have some fun and not loose skill. I've tried various shakuhachi lengths using inexpensive PVC, and then jinashi, and recently I went back to practicing on jiari 1.8, with great benefits IMO.
I'm planning to take lessons again in the near future, meanwhile I have a bunch of scores to work.
Apart from shakuhachi I also play a bunch of other instruments, flutes, didgeridoo, jaw harps, drums, and throat sing. Have a look at my YT channel if you'd like to hear some sounds: http://www.youtube.com/nicosensei
Best wishes to everyone around!
