Searching for CD: Shakuhachi & chanting (?) monks
Hello Forum,

as the topic title says I'm looking for a cd. I can't remember the name but it was some shakuhachi pieces with singing japanese monks / chanting monks. I know this is just little information but I guess there shouldn't be THAT much cd's out with this mix.
Maybe someone got an idea what I am looking for?

There is Monshogodo: Meditative Sounds of Old Japan By Michael Gould.

Thank you for the fast answer, Yuusui! It was not Michael Gould (but his CD seems to be great!). I think I remember that the voice was a bit deeper, and maybe there were more tracks on the cd (about 10).

Peter, perhaps you mean the Lyrichord release 'Japanese Masterpieces for the Shakuhachi', a field recording made in 1976 on location at two Fuke Temples in Tokyo which includes a beautiful piece for shakuhachi and voice called 'Sekiheki no Fu', composed by Seizan Shibata.

Mastery does not lay in the mastery of technique, but in penetrating the heart of the music. However, he who has not mastered the technique will not penetrate the heart of the music.
