Etsuko Chida koto concert Geneva Saturday 3rd, October 2015

Etsuko Chida who performed beautifully during the ESS Shakuhachi Paris 2015 Festival delightful concerts will be in Geneva on the 3rd of October for a koto concert.



During the same concert Junko Ueda will play the biwa and perform old Buddhist Japanese chants.




She will also during that weekend have a workshop on Shômyô (old Buddhist Japanese chants).

This concert as well as Teruhisa Fukuda's concert on the 28th of November 2015 are part of the happenings around the exhibition "Le Bouddhisme de Madame Butterfly" at the MEG (Musée ethnographique, Genève)

On the afternoon of the 4th of October there will be a Japanese festival in Carouge, an even smaller town on the outskirts of Geneva. It was first organized to raise funds for Fukushima's disaster and has been repeating itself ever since. 12'000 people attended last year. It is an opportunity for the vast Japanese community that lives in Geneva to come together with people who share an interest in Japanese culture.
