Utaguchi repair
Hi All,
I am very happy with my 1.8 Madake bamboo high end shakuhachi I bought from Mejiro recently.
But I thought I would buy a cheap wooden shakuhachi that I could play outside without too much risk of cracking and for it to be a bit more robust!
I bought one online really cheaply .......however there is a small chip on the utaguchi.
Is there an inexpensive and effective way to repair the damage?
Hope someone can help!

Geoff.

In most cases it is no sonic problem playing with a chipped utaguchi. You can try building it up with some nail varnish. Layer above layer.

Hi Low Blow,
Thanks for that.....I'll give the nail varnish trick ago!
I had a really nice 1.8 Zenmura which I took out to play one summers day and to my horror the next day it had cracked....hence the purpose of a cheap wooden shakuhachi.

Many blessings.
