Ran across this interesting tool for hanko identification - http://kanji.sljfaq.org/mr-old.html - you can select the radical and other elements of a stamp to refine your search. There is also an area where you can draw it with your mouse, though I haven't had much luck with that.

Once I have identified the correct kanji, I copy/paste into this site - http://tangorin.com/classical/ - to get the name(s).

Has helped me track down quite a few, to date.
