Recommend a honkyoku CD please 1.8
Hi all,
Please recommend a honkyoku CD for me that contains the top 10 to 20 pieces including Choshi, Tamuke, Sanya etc etc
In 1.8 preferrable if possible. Pedigree of player is not a priority but ease of purchase is . Amazon jp or US or webstore is ok.
Hopefully in the 3000 yen , 30dollar range.
Thank you,
John

Look for "Shakuhachi Koten Honkyoku" from Katsuya Yokoyama Vol. 1-3. All pieces played on 1.8 for education. You can buy them from Tei Hei Shakuhachi from Monty Levenson and otheres.
Thank you very much LowBlow for the recommendation.
I may have to order it from the US as it seems to be unavailable here.
Though I have found some of Yokoyama’s cd’s for sale here but the specific information on flute size is missing.

In case you can't find the already mentioned CDs, Furuya Teruo also recorded the Yokoyama honkyoku repertoire all played on a 1.8.
"Shakuhachi Koten Honkyoku Album Vol. 1 - 3." The albums also include some additional pieces not covered on the Yokoyama CDs.
They are on the Bamboo label. http://www.farsidemusic.com/acatalog/BAMBOO_COMPANY.html
