Home recording setup - inexpensive tools yield great results
Hi Friends,

Just slung some bamboo joy onto Soundcloud. My composition played on a thirty year-old Seiwa 1.8 (made by Sakata Seizan). This was recorded into an Audio Technica AT3035 mic at a distance of about 4-5 inches (slightly off axis so I don't blow on the diaphragm). The mic is plugged into an old M-Audio Duo usb interface connected to a iPhone running AudioShare at 24 bit. I added a touch of reverb using Virsyn's AudioReverb (iOS) and a little post-processing - high-pass to remove some low-end and Schoeps Mono-Upmix to expand to stereo. Converted to 16bit using AirWindow's superb (and free!) NaturalizeDither.

Hope you dig it!

P.S. You need a - Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter - to connect a USB interface to the iPhone.
