ESS Summer School & hi
Hey everyone

I just got back from the summer school in London and I have to say I met some great people, heard some fantastic music and thoroughly enjoyed the whole four days. I've now got so many new things to think about and stuff to try out but then I'm a complete beginner (three months) so that's not so surprising maybe.

If there's anyone who was there that's here let me know. I had a napkin with some email addresses scribbled on from the last night in the pub but it didn't quite survive the journey back to Glasgow intact....

Hi Luca Very Happy yes I'm practising to for that reason. Those classes with Daniel and Horacio were really motivating. They've given me a much greater focus to the time I spend playing.

I've been taking a bit of sandpaper to the 2.2 shakuhachi I made just to smooth out some corners and I'm loving the sound of it (well the sounds I get anyway Rolling Eyes ). Hey Erikki it would be great to see your pictures if you can post them. Chiku Za, Jose and Philip were very reassuring as we got stuck into those bits of bamboo - cheers guys Smile

As Galina (I think I might almost maybe recognise you from your pic here, though I'm hiding behind the shakuhachi I made in mine..) says above thanks Kiku and all the rest who helped put this together!

Heeeey, here the post summer school talk goes! NICE! Okay Mr. Green Okay

I have uploaded all my pictures on Picasa. Once the text is done, I will publish it. we have also the European Shakuhachi Society's Facebook page where you should be able to upload pictures... If not, we will try to make it possible for everyone to upload on the same page so we can all have a look.

Feedback forms will be sent out to all participants soon, and we can then ask if people would not want to be on an email list.Idea If no one objects we will send it out and if anyone does object, we will amend the list and send it out. So we should be ok for email lists.
