Chikusing Leather Shakuhachi Cap
Hi All,
I get orders for my Chikusing Caps from Europe often. The cost for shipping is more than the cost of the cap so I thought I'd post instructions on how to make your own here. Here is a link to the page on the BBQ on how to make a Leather cap for your shakuhachi:

I've since switched over to using a hand punch shown below instead of the hammer punch.

I like 6.5 - 7.5 oz grade leather. It's thicker and holds the shape. Also, dyed leather will stain your flute so I would avoid that.
