IP blocked again and again and....
Just thought I would let the moderators know that the IP block is so frequent that it hinders the use of the forum as much as I would like.
I use cellphone alot to access the forum. or PC using wifi in cafees, trains etc.
I have written two long reviews of the summershool in London, but both times the IP block kicked in, and all my text got lost...

Maybe you can loosen the screws a bit, they seem to be a bit tight?
I enjoy the forum a lot, being a recreational player, its very inspiring to read the expert discussions.

Hi Jarle,
As you know we had a discussion about that here. I thought that the problem was over, but it seems that it's not solved for you. The only thing I can do now is to report the IP addresses that block almost systematically. This is clearly the case for Jarle, are there others involved ? Jarle, you say that the problem also occurs when you're not at home, so the reporting of an IP address may not be enough. I would have offered to try with another browser, but I am surprised that the problem arises also from the iPhone.

It happens more when I am not at home, using cell phone or wifi with laptop in hotels etc.
On iphone it doesn't matter if I use safar or the special app for xoom (which by the way has a irritating adv in french :-)

PS: Don't overwork yourself trying to fix this if it is only a problem for me, shakuhachipractice is after all more important...

I often have problems being blocked when I access from my rooted B/N Color Nook Android tablet using the Opera browser on my home Wi-Fi. So it's not just Jarle, I never mentioned it because I thought it was known problem after having learned about from the previous discussion. I didn't know the network administrator thought the problem was resolved.

Ok, apparently we are not the only forum to have this problem. Blocking is activated when the server receives too many requests from the same IP address. I try to find a solution on my side, please try on your side to find the reason why your computer sends these requests.

This is done to prevent the server from attacks. If lots of requests coming from one IP first try is to look for viruses and trojans at the computer using this IP. There is a good chance for infection when an client with the IP is sending out multiple request to the same server.

Yes, more forums have this problem with the xooit software, http://absolutregis.xooit.com/t2403-IP-block.htm
Hopefully it is a easy fix!

That's what I thought when I asked to check why these computers send so many requests. But the link Jarle sent above suggests that the simple act of opening multiple windows quickly could trigger the blocking of the IP address. I gonna check with Xooit administrators.

Another possibility is when using wlan or other mobile connections with bad conditions the client tries to reconnect many times to recover the connection or hold it stable.

Yes, that's what I said to Xooit admin, I'm waiting for his answer.

When I google "xooit ip bloquee" I see alot of people are discussing this, but in french, so I don't understand what they are saying.
But it seems to be to tight security when it is stricter than my internetbanking systems as well as remote logon to my jobsnettwork and applications, I never encounter this problem with those systems...

There are a lot of discussions about this on Xooit Support Forum. I think I've almost read everything in French about this problem ; the only useful answer I found is to email Xooit admin, what I did yesterday.

Home PC. Sometimes blocked, sometimes not. Couple of times in a week.

Hey folks,

Home PC and quite infrequent problems, although there have been times. Thankfully, I don't seem to suffer much from such issues, very often.

I'd love to see this blocking resolved, since the ideas of the international shakuhachi community are most important to the whole of our collective voice.
