Beginners shakuhachi video
Here's something I found on the net for absolute beginners. I don't endorse this and haven't watched all of them but this seems to be what many people are looking for. Here's the first one and if you follow the links there are more. Would somebody review this so we know how good it is? Seems reasonably good to me.

I had seen these videos before. I am personally not a fan of them for learning traditional Japanese shakuhachi.

I've seen them too. I thought they were pretty good. I'm not sure about the practicing into the wind (like on a beach) that he suggests on one of them though, it sort of goes against the strategy of making as beautiful of a sound as possible at all times.
