Happy New Year All!
Happy New Year All!
Well, here's to blowing away the year 2011 and blowing in this New Year of 2012!
While I am actually more partial to the Chinese New Year... I love any reason for a party and a celebration! Thank you all for welcoming a newbie into this great musical tradition and this fine community. I truly appreciate all of the guidance, encouragement and sage wisdom freely given by you all.
I wish everyone here a wonderful new start to your continuing journey with the shakuhachi. If it were possible, I would suggest all of us blowing Ro when the clock strikes 12:00 AM. Of course, being an International community, this is understandably impossible. Tell you what.... why don't we each let out our own gust of wind, wherever we live, as the moment arrives? Time is an illusion, after all.
Blowing Zen to usher in the New Year! I suppose that in light of said Zen... there is only the now and only this point in the present moment. Be that as it may, let us still celebrate the passing of the old and embrace the dawning of the new! Thanks folks, you've all been most kind.
Be well and practice often, Jon

"Kiku Day""Kiku Day"Yes Happy New Year! But Perry... on that picture... is that your breath on fire?
Ouch!

Actually Kiku, your comment does connect deeply with me in a nostalgic way. I could say, without a doubt, that the reason I am a musician today is because of Gene Simmons of the rock band KISS. Seeing Gene blow 10 feet flames while playing the electric bass under a giant spinning disco ball rocked my world. I was never the same again

Deep bows, Perry
