Monden Tekiku
Monden Tekiku:
I just ran across some samples of this guy's playing while researching a piece on Komuso.com. He has a very unique sound and style!
Anybody know anything about him?... and/or how to get a hold of his recording?

about Monden Tekiku sensei:
I know Monden Tekiku-sensei. About ten years ago I had his group lesson in Osaka.
He is very interested in my book (or theory)"Shakuhachi Suisou -ho Second"(尺八吹奏法Ⅱ). So at that time he sent me a long letter himself.
Monden sensei is introduced in the following website, please look.
It contains a introduction of Monden-sensei's CD .

By the way its sender is Mr. Tsuda who is one of my acquentances.
I'll introduce Monden-sensei a little by the letter.(Following)
I had have lessons under Master Sakurai Muteki(1893-1961) from 1948.
After his death I took over his school, because other students were very busy for their jobs.Shakuhachi player must make Shakuhachi,so I had studied making jinashi komuso shakuhachi under the direction of Mr.Okamoto Chikugai.
Komuso shakuhachi has Knot a little, and don't have any ji( past-like material). That sounds soft and remains bamboo-sound.......(continue)..
Now he got older ,so his highly student Maeda Tekiku is taking over his school.( Last year He and other students and I had got drink greatly.)
I hope this letter will helpful for you.
Regards.

Oh... I believe that's not a very good memory :-)
But Dean Del Bene most kindly sent me a recording of his and I really do love his playing. It's very unique.
