Solution for closely placed hole on a small shakuhachi
Golf tee placed on small flute (1.3) to accommodate narrow space between holes. This allows for easy movement when shading Tsu Meri by keeping your middle finger up and out of the way.

Thanks, but I can't claim this as an original idea. One of my fellow students at Kyo Shin An Dojo has a Gyoksui 1.1 with this same treatment. I always thought it was an interesting solution.
