Screw shakuhachi!
I just went through airport security and they stopped me because there was a big honking screw in my 1.6. I saw it on the X-Ray machine.

Can any of the makers explain why someone would put a screw inside a shakuhachi?

Perhaps a sacred offering to the Shakuhachi Gods.

I have embedded "U" nails into roots to hold severe cracks closed. They were sealed cosmetically so no one would ever guess they were there. Was it near a crack?

I don't know, all I saw on the x-ray was a screw or nail that was about 4 inches long and it was running lengthwise. It was inside the bamboo walls.

Bizarre. Is it Jiari? Maybe the maker was low on Ji paste and used the screw as a filler. When I was a model maker, I often broke up old silicone molds and used the pieces as filler for new molds since silicone was expensive.

You're lucky it was a screw instead of a kilo of heroin Very Happy
