I've got a PVC Irish flute with a shakuhachi inspired head joint. It's very good for slow airs like amazing grace.
I had a listen to an audio clip on that site. Didn't sound great.
Philip Horan is a very good Irish shakuhachi player who has written a book called "Celtic Honkyoku", with some Irish pieces written in both Tozan and Kinko notation. I got it as my other half's father is Irish and I thought it'd be fun, irish pieces sound nice on shakuhachi!
Somewhat related: Someone on that page called shakuhachi "Shak". I don't know why it winds me up so much, but it really does. Am I the only one?!

I remember Brian had set up an automatic substitution of some words on the "old" forum (Shakuhachi BBQ). From now it will be the same on ESS Shakuhachi Forum : "shak" and "shaku" will be automatically replaced by "shakuhachi". Feel free to tell me any other suggestion of word substitution.
