Perry Yung on WZEN now and this week
now playing!
Crossing Paths
Pure Sound, Open Heart
Perry Yung has immersed himself in the world of the shakuhachi—he is a musician, craftsperson, and teacher of the bamboo “Zen” flute. During a recent visit to the Monastery, Perry took a break from teaching to speak with Shoan and Ikusei about his discovery of the shakuhachi, his training in Japan, and his commitment to sharing this haunting and beautiful instrument with others.
Recorded in July 2012 at ZMM.
