Scales.
Scales.
If you can go onto the www.bbc.co.uk website, find "broadband learning clips" and search for clip 5213, you will find a wonderful short explanation by Clive Bell of Japanese scales.
As apost script to the above....The video gives a very clear view of the position of Clive Bell's shakuhachi. As a soon to be taught, but up until now self learner, I studied that position on myself in the mirror and found that a small adjustment had to be made to mimic the position Clive Bell uses. My upper end kan is now much clearer, and meri a bit easier. Millimetres....micromillimetres!!!!!
Sorry - Unable to locate it. A search for 'broadband learning clips' turns up blank. Any more clues or the exact url please. It sounds interesting.
