The most intriguing thing about living in Japan for me is the unexpected. You can take a walk in the park and come upon a group off the set of "West Side Story", or go to a shrine and be dismayed, watching parents seated their baby daughters astride giant phalluses. Its layered in the sacred and profaned, yet flows like water, with little or no disturbances to the whole.
